Fan Month + New Design

As previously mentioned, I am off to do my fan month today! I probably will not be blogging for the next week, but I will be reading yalls blogs! When I come back, I'll do a big catch up post. Meanwhile, you can keep up with what I'm reading by following my Pinterest Board.

Are there any blogs you suggest I should be reading?

As you probably noticed, I have re designed everything around here. I need yall to give me some feedback. Please be harsh and honest! I've also updated my pages.

To simple? Not enough pictures? Hard to read? Boring? What would you change if it was your blog?

Opal wishes you a happy week, and looks forward to seeing yall around the blogosphere.

Public School vs. Home School

I'm probably going to raise hackles by bringing this up, because everyone has their own idea of what is a good or bad way for a child to be taught.  I've based a lot of it off being a Christian, which annoys me because I feel like it's more Christian Homeschoolers vs. Christian Public Schoolers.

I've called each part a 'freedom' as in, how much freedom do/did I have for each issue, if that makes sense.

Please remember that I am not setting out to offend anybody, these are just my thoughts on the subject.

One Lovely Blog Hop

I'm sorry I haven't done a proper post in ages. Life is just really weird (see picture to your left) and stuff seems to be exploding constantly. My head is just everywhere and no where all at once. And I keep falling asleep when I sit down. I wasted all last Sunday when I sat down to do some Chemistry study and woke up at dinner time. I also fell asleep over some Bio, so it's quite serious.

The Times They Are a-Changin'

Indeed they are. I mentioned a while back, in my post Chocolate, Changes and Chances  (which had nothing to do with Chocolate), that I had been thinking about a new design. It was kind of not true, because I've been working (and thinking) on a new design since November last year, and I've ben through hundreds of ideas, photos and colors.

Finally, I think I am close to my final design.

There is lots of change, but I'm only going to let you have a tiny glimpse (which looks grey for some reason), because theres still lots to do, and I haven't reached the final final point, if that makes sense.

My Name
I started blogging when I was 11. My blog was about horses, and so I picked the pen name Wild Horse. I have regretted it ever since, and I'm finally going to change to a real name. I spent a while researching names, and then finally decided to use Opal, which had been my first choice. I'm going to start using Opal from now, to let yall (and me) adjust to it. It feels weird, but hopefully that will wear off.

The Header
I once tried to change my header, but everyone likes Hunter too much, so I changed back. While I do love that picture of Hunter, and the header I have now, I'm changing to a simpler, more professional looking header.

The Sidebar
Away with the gadgets! I often think when looking at my current design. My new design is going to have the bare minimum I think I blog should have. A cluttered sidebar makes me want to cry.

Overall:
More simple, hopefully easier to use. I will be seeking what yall think when it goes live, which will be just before I start my Fan Month, on the 23rd of March.

Change is good? Change is bad? Opal is good? Opal is bad?

Opal is sorry she used Bob Dylan lyrics in the post title. She hopes that you are all still alive. She couldn't resist, it was the first thing that came to mind. Saying Opal is weird haha.

Rachel @ Stained Glass Windows tagged me for this a while ago, and I am finally getting around to it.  For this quick blog hop, you just name your 10 favorite characters from movies or TV, then tag 10 friends to do the same. So here goes:

11 Things I wish 13 Year Old Me Had Known

I'M KIDDING OKAY
Being 13 is hard, and I wish I had known more about the world than I did. That saying, if I hadn't gone through what I did, I wouldn't be who I am today. If I could go back and change things, but still be who I am today, here is what I would want my 13 year old self to know.

One Evening

This post feels a bit like some sort of video, but you have to see it in your head. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Annnnyway.
