Dropping an Idea

I was only 3 days in when the new idea struck.
                              Oh, the temptation.
I wanted to get to work strait away.

But I couldn't. The 100 for 100 rules state that unless you finish your project, you cant start a new one and use it to count toward your word count.
I could start a new one, but I'd still have to be writing 100 words on my current story.

So my wonderful idea sits on paper in my folder.
                                Waiting.

Week One : 100 for 100

Oh, what a week.

I have never ever had to stick at one story for so long.

Ever.

I admit, my habit of jumping from idea to idea is bad. But until now, I have gotten away with it!

And I like it that way, I have discovered. I am rather like a little kid who's not allowed a lollipop everyday any more.

In fact, one day when I was feeling particularly snotty about it, I wrote exactly 100 words, and stopped (It took me about 20 minutes to get there!). I also felt a little depressed because in our email loop, people where throwing around word counts like 90,000, but they have been working on theirs a lot longer than me.

If you have read my 100 for 100 page, you might know we are allowed one 'grace day' a week. I was tempted to use this almost everyday, but I kept telling myself I might actually need it for a good reason.

That good reason never came.

BOOOOOHOOOOOHOOOOO

However, I have written at least 100 words for an entire week!! Yay me!

One day, maybe, I will be a disciplined writer, who can stick to one story at a time.

And, my still un-named story has now got 3, 555 words!!!!!!! (My lovely fellow writers over at Go Teen Writers tell me it's ok that I still haven't got a name yet).

Whoop Whoop!

BRING ON WEEK TWO!!!

5 Questions

Is it better to write 'We raced around the corner' Or 'We raced around the corner of Baker Street' ?

How do cats purr?

Why is there 15 carbs in a banana, about 9 carbs in a glass of milk, but only 15 carbs in a milkshake with a banana and a cup of milk? Shouldn't there be 24?

The Scrapbook Tree

If you have scraps of paper or scrapbook paper lying around, this is a great craft to use it all up. It's very basic, but it does require glue and cutting.

What You Will Need:
                                                      - A pencil
                                                      - Glue (I used PVA)
                                                      - Scissors
                                                      - Twist Ties or Floral Wire
                                                      - Paper
                                                      - Branches (You can pick the size)
  - A leaf Template (I made my own)

1) Trace your leaf shape on to you paper

2) To make things faster, you can double your paper when you cut it, but this does require carful cutting. I had 22 pairs of leaves.

Please note my awesome nails!! ;)

Here are some of my leaves paired up...

3) Next, use your glue to stick the Twist Ties onto the back of one leaf, and stick the leaves pair on top, using the glue to stick them together.  ⇑

4) When your leaves are dry, use the Twist Ties to put them on the branches.                                          ⟸

5) Put your branches into a bottle, jar or vase.

Ta da!

Am am happy to answer any questions :)

How I Completed a Short Term Goal, and Made 5 Calls in 10 Minutes

Thursday is a good day. I have Speech and Drama, I get to go to the Library. Every second Thursday I have Creative Writing. Mum has bought in this new thing. After Speech and Drama, I catch the bus to Dad's Work.

Yes The Bus.

What kind of mother does that? Oh, yea. MINE. I really, really, really don't like the bus. Why? Well, I have never, ever had a good experience on one. I have very strong feeling about the bus. Very strong negative feelings.

Bad Bus Experience #1
While mum and dad were away my sister and I were staying with friends, we decided to go Christmas shopping, and to catch the bus into town. We missed the bus because (I'm embarrassed to say) we couldn't find the bus stop (turns out it was 2 more blocks over). So Mr Friend dropped us off on his way in.
We did catch the bus back I'm proud to say! But, the bus driver was so grumpy. I think he thought we were horrid teenagers *cough*. So, we got on. The nice old lady in front of us didn't pay, so we thought you paid when you got off the bus. Oh, how deluded we were. Next thing we know...
'Oy, you two' *We turn around* 'Why aren't you going to pay?!' *We hand over the money and apologise* *He grunts* *We sit down*
Awkward.
On the way out, we decided to be nice Christians, and gave him sweet smiles and big thank you's, which he ignored.
Thanks for putting me off buses, Mr Bus Driver. (P.S., you owe us a $1, cause it's only $1.5 for us, not $2)

Bad Bus Experience #2
I missed the bus (It was JUST leaving as I turned the corner, about 225m away from the stop) and ended up walking 3.1km to dad's work, because I didn't know there was a bus 20 minutes after the first one. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. (Though I have $2 in my wallet from mum still)

Bad Bus Experience #3 (Today)
I made it to the stop, got on the bus, paid $2 (just realised I didn't get my 50 cent change :/ ). Made it to dads work, only to find dad had gone home. It caused a great upset, because dad doesn't us a a cellphone, so we couldn't contact him until he got home. We missed each other literally by minutes. Arg.

Catching the bus was a short term goal. Complete!

I made 5 calls in 10 minutes because mum didn't have her cellphone on her, it was in the car. We were waiting for her because she was running really late for my sister Cello lesson. I rang every two minutes, much to my sister amusement.

Today's drama now comes to an end.

Goodnight!

P.S. Our bus service owes me a whole $1!!

5 Embarrassing Things Mum Does - By Hunter

Hi y'all, Im Hunter
Hi, I'm Hunter - and this is my Mum's blog. When I say mum, I mean like my human mum. Cause my real mum was a long haired ginger cat. I had lots of brothers and sisters once, but mum and aunty (mums sister) only took me and Tigger. Now Tigger's gone too, he passed away :( I'm a runt, so I haven't really gotten that big. I like to sleep, eat and stalk Black Berry. I'm pretty smart for a cat. I've worked out that if I scratch the couch, mum feeds me, and if I give a nice long, loud meow, I get cuddles.

5 Embarrassing Things Mum Does
By Hunter

1- She tells people I can't hunt. She says my name is a curse, and that I'm too slow! The truth is, if I wanted to catch a bird, I would. So there.

2- Mum takes copious amounts of photos of me. She must have hundreds! Me eating, sleeping, walking, playing, running... You name it, she has a photo of it!!

3- Her and Aunty giggle about me. They say that I have a crush on Black Berry!! So not true!!

4- She asks dumb questions. Like, 'are you hungry after all the sleeping, Hunter?' YES!! Of course I'm hungry!!

5- And least, but not last, she gives me dumb nick-names, that I will not repeat, but her and Aunty think are hilarious.

Off to have a dust bath! (See, look, she took this picture too!!)

Why Dinner Guests Can Be Awkward, and Why I Like Mum's Pudding

Some dinner guests are fun! In fact all dinner guests are fun to a degree. But things nearly always awkward at the start. Both parties laugh, and talk loud and fast. Unless it's someone you are very familiar with, that is. Tonight we had someone we hadn't seen for a very long time... Um, hello, person here who's really bad with names and faces.
Then of course, they ask 'do you remember me?'  Ah, no.  Awkward
When you haven't seen someone for a long time, there's a lot of stuff to catch up on, but for the first awkward hour, you go over the stuff over and over and over again. Then suddenly you're talking about how you ran into Sally's cousins sister who second ex-husband kid  in the supermarket last week. Yawn, anyone under 35, exit convo.
Mummy's pudding is yummy! It's sponge on top, and plum underneath!! The sponge is sweat, and the plum is just right. And it's nice a hot, fresh from the oven. YUMMY.

Pudding is YUMMY!
